Are you upgrading your ride?

Lug nuts might seem like such a little thing when you look at your vehicle as a whole, but safety is very important! After various upgrades to my Jeep Wrangler, I realized that those old rusty wheels just had to go. New wheels, though, just didn't look right with the original lugnuts. If you're upgrading your wheels, then a new set of lugnuts is exactly what you need to round out the package. BrandSport has lug nuts for sale for every application, whether you need just one nut or a whole set. Why would you buy just one nut? Well, a full set of wheel nuts is necessary to maintain proper torque and safety. If one lug is missing, then you can order one to replace it. Be sure to order the correct type of nuts, as they come in different sizes and applications. Steel wheels typically require cone-shaped lug for a proper fit, while aluminum wheels may require cone-, acorn-, or washer-type nuts. It is not recommended to use the wrong type of lugnuts to attach your wheels. The wrong type of nuts can damage the wheel, and if not torqued properly, which can be unsafe. Lugs also come in different sizes, depending on the vehicle. Getting the right combination of size, type, and finish, is critical in assuring the proper fit and finish. A loose nut is just as dangerous as a missing one, so be sure to use the proper tools, including a torque wrench, and the proper tightening sequence, to make sure your nuts are secure. BrandSport also offers tools to help make the job even easier. If you are looking for lugnuts to finish your project, make sure you contact us to assure the right application.

Looking to protect your new wheel investment?

If you are, BrandSport also offers a selection of locking lugs in all sizes and types. Installing wheel locks, or "locking lug nuts" is easy. Remove one standard nut from each wheel, and install one new locking one, remembering to torque it properly using the provided key and a torque wrench. NEVER use an impact wrench to install or remove locking nut, as it can damage the key or the locking nut, making it nearly impossible to remove. If you're ordering lugs for your Jeep Wrangler or other vehicle with an exterior-mounted spare tire, then don't forget to order extra nuts for that wheel as well. In this position, especially, exposed lug nuts, used or missing make a statement, often the worst, about your vehicle. Buying extra for this application is important for appearance's sake. While you can install nuts with an impact wrench, it is probably best to do it by hand. When you install lugnuts by hand, it helps you to do a better job of it. If you can't spin the lug on by hand, then it could mean than the threads are damaged. Running a stuck nut on with the impact wrench might only lead to damage, or worse, breaking of the wheel stud. If the tire lug nuts are hard to spin on by hand, they may not torque properly, even with a torque wrench, which could lead to improper clamping, possibly hub and rotor warping.
